I'm in North Texas and just cut a Johnson grass field and will be bailing in a few days. We had a severe drought this year but about 4 inches of rain has fallen this past month. The field has not been fertilized in a long time (years) but it's good bottom land.

If I cure the hay properly do I need to worry about any hay poisoning? I'm feeding to cows.

Should I wait a few weeks before I feed?

Should I worry with Nitrate poisoning?
