I live in Austin, TX, and something is eating my Lantana and not the other plants surrounding it in my front bed. I've attached 2 pictures of the plant. Does anyone have any ideas of how to help my plant?
A friend in Australia laughs in disbelief that we would plant lantana voluntarily. She would advise the swiftest death to this plant that apparently runs amok down there.
I can't see any specific bug on it in these photos, but you clearly have something. Have you tried going out at night with a flashlight to see if there is anything active on it?
Without a specific bug in mind, I suppose I would mix a little neem or orange oil and spray it on. Lots of butterflies visit lantana, so unless you know it is some kind of caterpillar, I wouldn't put BT on it. It's so close to the end of the growing season, I'd be tempted to not do much. The only plants I continue to chase bugs away from are those in the vegetable garden.
