Last year I used burlap bags and bagged approx. twenty 20lbs bags of compost. Today 10-17-10 I took a couple of bags out of the shed to make some compost tea, the bags were really dried out. I took 3 big hand fulls out and put it a 5 gal. bucket added water and mixed it up good, after 2 hours the water was real light in color instead of the chocolate brown that I was used to seeing. Was the compost too dry, is it still good or should I just dump it back into my compost piles and mix it in? My thinking was to bag it and sell it to people for making teas for house plants, veggie gardens, landscape plants.

I don't know about last year's compost, but adding some molasses would darken the color and feed whatever microbes are there to liven it up again.
