I am starting to notice very long leggy limbs on my live oak. These limbs extend over one foot from the main mass of the tree and tend to droop. I have never seen this happen to another live oak. I planted it a little over a year ago and I fertilized it with tree spikes before I knew better. Is it growing too fast to support its limbs due to the fertilization? The trunk is about 3 inches in diameter and it is about 10 feet tall.
