I have several clumps of liriope that are turning pale yellow and can be easily pulled out of the ground separating from the remainder of the plant. Is this root rot or crown rot or something else. Should I remove the plant and replace with a new plant that does not have the disease? If so, will it be okay to place the new plant in the same area? Should I amend the area with cornmeal? Any advise would surely be appreciated. I have many other liriopes that look great.
