We have a tank we have stocked with fish. The water source is run off.
We need to clear the tank of moss and would like an organic solution.I read about hay and corn meal? Can you explain the process?

When I had moss (algae) in my tank I physically cleared the tank of the algae and added tilapia to the tank the next spring in addition to the catfish that I stocked. The catfish eat most of the tilapia and the balance need to be netted because they will die when the water temperature is less than 55 degrees. It works well and plus you can eat some good fresh tilapia.

Cornmeal is used at about 140 lbs per surface acre and does better if it sinks to the bottom. There is a granulated form of cornmeal that will sink. It can also be put in burlap bags with rock added so it sinks.
