I have an abundance of these little guys - and gals - (muscovie ducks) and they are too much competition for my chickens. Everyone knows when and where the feed is going and I can't afford to feed a flock of 40 ducks and all my laying hens/roosters.
They are a lot of fun to watch, can survive without a pond, but will appreciate a small one, and have very, very cute ducklings. They don't need to be fed, but if you put it out, they'll eat it. They do lay lots of eggs, and if you can find em, before they start setting - you'll keep the numbers down. They found out there is an "under" the barn here though and I can't get at the eggs.
I hate to break up the gang, but some of them gotta go so my chickens can get more nutrition. Everyone is free range, but they like the laying supplement I put down for the hens.
If you are interested, please email me at eogc@airmail.net. I will sell them for $5 ea or $10 drake and 2 hens as a "set". You catchem!
