For those of you in the Dallas Ft Worth area this weekends rain chances makes the perfect time to put out those beneficial nematodes. Remember these guys need to applied to wet soil. So application between rain showers gives you an opportune time to put them out. Not to mention it helps conserve water by doing this between rain showers. its fun to dance in the rain too! For those of you in other parts of the country this applies to you as well, just make sure the ground has warmed up and isn't still frozen.
We're having trouble with fleas and ants, and I've purchased nematodes to help deal with it. I have 2 questions: (1) Is it advisable to apply them now, given the extreme heat we're having in Dallas right now? I was thinking of holding off to time it with another rain situation like we had last week. (2) I've read they're good for fire ants, but what about other types of ants? I'm having problems with those teensy-weensy miniscule black ants all over my Kentucky Wonder pole bean plants and Asparagus bean (which they especially seem to like) plants. I was hoping the nematodes could help with these ants, too. If not, what do you suggest?

Yes you can still apply them although it is getting a little late. A rainy day makes getting out easier but you can still water them in yourself, before and after.
not sure if they will control those pesty sugar ants, but it wont hurt anything to put them out. They contol fire ant larve, termite, grub, flea and thrip larve as well as many others.
the ants in your garden may indicate some other problem, I would spray with Garrett Juice plus and add in some garlic pepper to start with. For a bad critter problem add 2 oz. of orange oil per gallon.
