I planted a Lacey Oak (about 5 feet tall) last Fall. Now the leaves have a chlorotic look...very light green color except for the typical blue/gray green color around the veins in the leaf. I have three other Lacey Oaks in my property in the same type of soil (black clay on top of white rock) and they are growing and looking good. 'Any ideas what is wrong?

I don't know. My Lacey Oak was never that tempermental and was quite the trooper. I'd just re-check all the normal stuff (planting depth, watering needs, etc), pamper it a little, and allow it to figure it out. It's probably just stress and shock from its first summer. Nearly all the trees I plant experience "heat shock" their first summer.

I agree. Mine is in native DWF black clay and hasn't displayed any chlorotic appearance. Benny Simpson's site states that alkaline soil is required for lacey oak. So if your soil is acidic, you might have chosen the wrong tree.

one more thing...lacey oak can't stand overwatering. So don't 'baby' your lacey too much.
