Welcome to the group! You will love it. Hope you didn't leave AZ thinking you'd get away from the heat! I guess we have better dirt in TX but there's a whole new set of problems too. Nothing like paying money for good dirt & cow poop among other things. We live in Plano but have land near Bonham & rental house in Melissa so we drive thru there weekly. All of us learn nearly daily about the 'Natural Way' -hope you find the forum a good one.

and welcome to Texas! You will enjoy the soil, even our clay soil can be manageable. My sister is in Oklahoma with the red sand, and I've been through Arizona, too. The colors there are beautiful!
I'm not sure where Melissa is, but we have a lot of variety of 'vegetation' all over.
