I've been getting the Dirt Doctor's newsletter for a long time but don't know how I missed the forum. I'm somewhat of a forum junkie - well, not as much lately - but this is just what I needed at this juncture. I've been gardening organically in my back yard for a few years and have been using mostly organic methods for the rest of the property for some time. I've worked in the landscape field all my life so I'm familiar with much of what is discussed but, because of my interest in producing nutritionally complete food, my interest has grown. I haven't looked around here but I hope there is some discussion of the BRIX index.
I read your other posts about nutgrass. I know you have a big area so this might not be a good solution for you.
I spread molasses once a month. I was doing it to rid my yard of ants. But it also helped my nutgrass population. Even the few that do sprout and I pull, I am finding do not have the 'nut' attached.
