Where are the best conditions to plant nicotiana? Is full sun ok?

I grew the variety that has the tall flower spikes with white flowers last summer. They tolerated the heat and the sun very well. I even had some volunteers come up this year. Where I have them gets sun from about 10 am til 4pm.
