I have a bottle of an organic Chai tea concentrate. I was wondering if I could use it as a plant fertilizer. The ingredients are as follows:

Water, evaporated cane juice, brewed black tea, wildflower honey, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, cardamon, black pepper, clove, citric acid

I purchase this product all of the time (for drinking!) and it is basically sugar and several spices. There is nothing I foresee causing any problem within the organic program, as well as the sugar will probably stimulate microbial activity. I assume this would be equivalent to liquid molassas.

But the question is why would you want to dump it? That is tasty stuff when heated with milk.

It is past the expiration date and I am afraid to drink it. I didn't want to throw it away if I could find another use for it.

It should not hurt anything in the soil. It will not fertilize anything either. If you are concerned, use it in a compost pile where it can decompose for a few months before spreading it out.
