Has anyone started these from seed and planted them in the Northeast Texas area? I have started some that are about 2 feet tall but very sensitive to wind.

I grew one from seeds from Kauai. Started in a pot and then in the ground. It was around two
years old and had 12 medium papayas on it when
the big freeze came and killed it. It did fine in wind
and rain. I am trying to find out if it will come back
if I cut if back. It was so healthy and strong. The
trunk was 8 inches in diamator.
If anyone out there knows an answer; please
let me know.
