Wonder if someone can help me identify something...when I described it to someone they said it sounds like a weed they recall slightly that had stickers they think. The pods looked sort of like tiny pumpkins but brownish. I saw small pods or seed like things the other day used as a Halloween decoration; they did look like very small (smaller than an M&M) pumpkins. I asked the store owner what they were and she said they are a type of seed but she couldn't remember what they were; they were painted orange to further resemble a pumpkin so not sure if they started out brown or what. Does someone know what these are? Thanks.

In case anyone might be able to help identify the seeds I'd like to find what plant they belong to, the person who described this to me as a weed with stickers has written back that the plant grew maybe a couple of feet tall with silvery yellow green leaves and made a tiny yellow pointed petaled flower in early summer. She remembers it in west TX. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, S
