Does anyone have a good organic cure for poison ivy. (Need it fast)

The juice from the perennial comfrey is the best cure I've found. Used it with succes just recently.

Not sure this would be considered "organic", but there is a product called Tecnu that is fantastic. It washes the poison ivy or oak oils off your skin. If you use it immediately after getting into poison ivy, you won't get it. If you use it after you get the rash, the itching goes away pretty much immediately and the rash goes away in less than 24 hours. There is also an tecnu product that you can use "preventatively" if you know that you are going into an area with poison ivy. A friend just told me that you can use the "after" product like a preventative and it will keep you from getting poison ivy. Eckerds carries Tecnu and I recommend that anyone who is allergic keep it on hand. I can't say enough good about it!

I read more about their products and no, they don't come close to qualifying as organic. They have a lot of cortisone and DEET products too, definitely not in the organic realm.

In turning back to organic & natural products, Burt's Bees makes a Comfrey balm that works pretty well but I have to agree with Howard that the juice straight from the plant really works great. I used the leaves from my plant on a friend's rash last year and it was wonderful. I hope someone will figure out how to make an essential oil of comfrey soon!

I use George's Aloe gel for any kind of rash, bite, sting, or ache I have and it always works great for me.
