We recently moved to SW Arkansas and have a pond - about an acre when full. Right now it is very low. A couple of questions:
1. I have been using the weed whacker on about 15- 20% of the edge. Should I keep the weeds mowed down to the edge of the pond? Right now they are getting pretty tall.
2. We have a "fountain" that we can turn on and off. Should we be using that to aerate the pond? If so, what percentage of the time?
3. I have seen catfish (I think) that are about 15" long and sunfish that the great blue heron has caught - although he could not eat the sunfish, it was humorous to watch! There may be other fish but I have not identified them. Should I be doing anything for the fish?
