 Post subject: Prickly Pear

Besides grubbing, burning, and using Tordon, is there an organic mix to spray on prickly pear? (large acreage)

I've heard two things.

If you can pile it all up and cover it with either manure or molasses, you have a chance at composting it.

The other thing I've heard is if you can let the grass grow tall and develop a litter layer among the pear, the cocheneal bug will develop in the area and eat the pear to the ground.
