I have 2 crepe myrtles that I planted last year. One shed whatever berries it had; the other still has them, even though they're brown. Should either of these trees be pruned? They're small, both about 3' tall. Should I remove the berries, or just leave them both as they are? I guess the new growth will knock off the berries & start new ones. Will appreciate any info you can give me.

You haven't seen Howard's reply to this repeated question...the answer is no pruning.

INSIGHT: It is a severe misconception that pruning back crape myrtles in the winter increases the flower production the next year. This hacking back actually creates less flower production because the plant tries to first make up the growth that has been cut away before setting new buds and flowers.
