I need lots of compost fairly quick. Buying it at 4.00 a bag is expensive. My question is if take hay like alfalfa or peanut, run it through a chipper-shredder, add some cow manure and dried molasses, will this make a good compost?

If you need lots quickly, I suggest going with compost tea. You can stretch your 1 cubic foot of compost into enough tea to cover 37,000 square feet.

Yea, I need to keep my soil, God quit making that a long time ago.

I use gallons of diluted aerobic tea brews sometimes 2-3 times a week, during the hottest summer months on all my heavy feeders like sweet, okra, and elephant ears.

I apply it mostly as a foliar/soil drench using a mere cup or bottle and a bucket, all over my garden beds and lawn.
