I have been working on my ball moss problem for about two years. I have been able to manually remove about 80% out of most of my trees. I follow up with a spray of sodium bicarbonate, I know the Potassium Bicarbonate is better but cannot afford the 100lbs+ needed. any way, I have had good luck with the solution. I did alot of spraying last year and tested a heavily affected tree and it killed about 90% this last weekend I was cleaning the dead moss out and noticed new growth starting, so time to spray again. Recently I have read adding Plant Wash is a great addition to the spray to enhance the effectiveness however at $100/gal I am hesitant. I was wondering if other "additives" would increase the effectiveness. Would adding liquid molasses or cornmeal tea improve it, would adding some soap have any effect? any ideas?

Adding orange oil the bicarbonate spray might be worth a try. It is a solvent and should make the killing power more thorough.

Howard, do you have a recommended amount of orange oil per gallon of sodium bicarbonate solution? 1 or two tablespoons/gal?
