I have a group of red little bugs that are crawling all over my watermelon plants. They look like small little red ants.
Does anyone know what i can SAFELY use on the watermelon plants.\

Leaf-footed bugs have been numerous this year, and their nymphs are reddish-orange, and long and thin. If you weren't really looking closely, I can see where you might think they were ants. Do a google search on them and see if that's what you have.

I also found these on my watermelon today and I also noticed a large split or crevice and I am not sure what might have caused the crack the red bugs or the extra rain we have received. Did you happen to notice if they damaged your fruit
