What species of tree works best for soil remediation purposes? We have an old gas well site in the Cross Timbers region that I'm sure was spilled upon in the past, as many trees in the general area are dead. It's currently a bare spot, and it goes without saying that the drillers would not be welcome on the land, so we'd like to reclaim it, if possible.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
