I have a Cedar elm that was damaged in a bad wind storm two years ago. Since then it has started to crack from the roots up. THe crack is all the way through the trunk and is getting worse with each wind storm. What should we do? Is there something we can do to save it?

Also have a huge live oak that split at a v and now has a large crack in it. It seems like it is trying grow over it I am not sure whether to try and seal the crack or not. Any suggestions?
