I wonder what type of sprayer should be used to do the foliar spray with Garrett Juice? I have tried several different type commericial sprayers but they all seem to clog the sprayers since the Garrett Juice is more of a thicker consistency than what these sprayers seem to be created for. I only have a small yard so I usually do not make more than one gallon at a time. Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks, Agatha

I just buy a spray bottle from the drug store or from your local nursery/hardware store.

I bought a small (just over a gallon or so) sprayer from Elliot's in Plano. The suction tube has a small mesh filter on it, which prevents any large particles from getting sucked up into the line, which could plug the nozzle. I only mix up a gallon at a time and I try to use it all at once. When I'm out of Garrett juice, I fill the sprayer half-way with water, close it up and pressurize it, and then run the water (with trace amounts of Garrett juice) through the nozzle. I then dump the remainder of the rinse water in a bed (usually the one with my saucer magnolia). Even leaving a small amount of G-juice in the sprayer will result in a science experiment gone wrong, as I reminded myself this past week.

My sprayer also has an adjustable nozzle, allowing me to vary the spray pattern (from a fine mist to a stream). I've also bought another sprayer to use just for enhanced vinegar applications, and I've got both labeled just to prevent any possible mistaken applications.

I'm thinking the thing cost around $10-12 or so. Buy what suits your needs. If a gallon sprayer is too big, go with a hand spray bottle.

I use the store bought Garrett Juice concentrate. My 2-gal pump sprayer has three tip-sizes to accommodate different viscosities and fan sizes. I have had no problems with clogs.
