Has anybody had luck using an organic method to prevents squash vine borers? Don't want to net the pollinating vines. Has anybody tried DE with success?

Several weeks ago I did an internet search on this very topic. Last year the vine borers decimated my squash plants. I found a very good write-up on the Gardens Alive website. I printed it off, just in case it somehow "went away". Here is the url:
