I have heard of this used as groundcover many times, but I just can't picture it.
My stonecrop (thats what the tag said) is 3-4 feet tall, 3-4 feet wide and stands strong - tall in a 36" pot. Will it eventually fall over and grow on the ground?
Also, should I pinch off the old bloom heads? It's covered in large clumps.

I grow alot of sedum...can you take a picture of it and post it here. We'll be able to verify the type of sedum you have and its characteristics.

i've got two row stonecrop, http://davesgarden.com/pdb/showimage/35969/, it's not my photo however, this is what it looks like. It only grows to around four inches tall at the most for me.

This is definitely not what I have. Mine is quite large, sort of lite to medium green (and yellow some now -- maybe getting to cool, or wet?), and has big clusters of tiny pinky-white flowers (spent now) at the end of long upward arching stalks with fleshy elongated oval leaves all along the stalks.

I'll try to get a pic asap.

Does it look like this but with pinker blooms? If so, it's autmn joy.

That's pretty normal for some to get very tall. Mine aare tall, but maybe about 2ft. The leaves will start turning yellow as the cooler temps set in. It freezes back to tiny rosettes at ground level then starts over again. Mine NEVER get watered, except by the rain. The prefer very dry conditions with lots of sun but can tolerate some shade too.

This is exactly like mine, except mine has white 'flowerettes' with tiny tiny tinges of pink in the center of each.

I was afraid I was going to have to move it -- and I guess I will. It's current location no longer gets enough sun (neighbors pecan tree is an effective sunblock)

Guess I beter go get to digging - it's gonna be a big hole.
