A lot of organic fertilizer home brews call for molasis. Can I use sugar (porcessed or raw) instead?

In one of Howard's organic books, he indicated you could use regular sugar which I have used before.

You can use any type of sugar, natural or wild honey, etc. as a biostimulant in any form of organic foliar or soil drench tea recipe.

However molasses products (dry or liquid) are the best of the best!
The reason is that molasses is rich in not only natural beet or cane sugars, but also in about 20+ minerals like sulfur, iron, and potassium.

Also molasses repels many pests like ants, because of its sulfur content.

I hate to throw anything away, including the old sugar water from the hummingbird feeder -- so into the brew.
