What can I spray young ( approx 3" tall ) sunflower plants with to keep animals from eating them. I suspect a rabbit although I have not seen it yet. I have several plants with the tops missing. These plant were planted on 3/25/04. I planted about 8- 10 plants next to a metal bldg on the south side of the residence. Formulas or mixes would be helpful.

Liquid Fence (available most garden centers & Lowe's) seems to be most peoples choice. You might try the hottest/cheapest dry pepper you can find to sprinkle around plants. A garlic/pepper spray on plants might also help although you will need to re-apply after a rain. Check the forum below for a lot of opinions, etc.
