Ok its fall? October in North Texas. To bad about our Cowboys yesterday. Is it late enough to plant Snapdragons and Viola and Dianthas? Tell me again about putting the bulbs under them. Which bulbs... etc. By better half used to handle this.... she is no longer my better half.. so I have to do it myself. I was always better at making compost tea...and uncovering flares.... now I have to do both! Thanks in advance.

You really need Howard's "Texas Gardening the Natural Way". Then you don't NEED to write anything down!
Yes, it's time for snapdragons, dianthus & pansies but I'm waiting a few more days b/c I don't yet believe this cool weather. As far as bulbs, there's a chart in the afore mentioned book that tells you the planting depths. I don't know as it matters which bulbs you can plant under which flowers.
Hope this helps.

PS don't be thinkin' tulips will come up year after year here! I think there is a variety that will for a few years...wish I could remember what that was...
