These are great groups to support! We have sent wings and craws of quail from West Texas to labs for them to look at the data along with covey counts and estimates of birds seen.
Groups like this that take in loads of primary data can really help get a handle on things. It's been great to see the quail numbers starting to rally in Texas once again. TP&W can't do the scope of the collections with the budget they have.
Even Blue Quail which I thought were completely wiped out are coming back again thanks to targeted habitation programs in places selected by analysis of this sort of data.
