I grow lots of garlic & have been organic for 4 years. Before I became organic I had a terrible problem with ticks & my 2 next door neighbors still do. What I do to control the ticks is that when I harvest the garlic, I go ahead and cut the leaves off before drying. I do lose some of the flavor, I'm sure, but the benefit of the insect control make it worth it. I take the leaves while still green & juicy, and walk around the yard with pruning shears cutting the leaves into small 1/4" pieces. My tick problem is no more. Both my neighbors are still being covered up with them, they are pulling ticks,several daily, off their dogs.

Ticks Ticks are very hard to treat if you have a garden my guess is to treat the perimiter of your lawn with EcoExempt IC2 active ingredients Rosemary Oil and Peppermint oil, EPA exempt but be careful not to spray garden.

For your neighbors: in the early spring, before the ticks move out of the soil and up the grass, apply beneficial nematodes. Once the ticks move up, the nematodes won't help. That rosemary stuff might work, but I've never heard of it. Wonder if you could just plant rosemary. It's almost a weed down here.

I made a mistake EcoExempt IC2 can be sprayed in the garden but does not work on ticks.

Fleas yes with a IGR but ticks im having a problem with using organics or Eco Line let me know if you find something that works.

Just wanted to mention that the only natural predator of ticks are fire ants, so if you leave some fire ants alive in the area you probably won't have many ticks.

If you want to catch ticks while they are still in the soil, now is the time to apply beneficial nematodes. With the rain we're having in Texas the soil will be perfectly prepared for the next few days.
