I know I'm to keep DE dry and I do, but gosh, it's so fine it's somewhat hard to handle without getting it everywhere you don't want it or on your hands.

From the main storage container, I put some DE in a Mason Jar. (You know the one that has that removable lid seal.)

Take some nylon or fiberglass window screening and cut a small piece to cover the opening of the jar. Place the lid on top of that and screw on the lid ring. This will form the screen to the threads on the jar. Trim off the excess screen.

To use as a sprinkel/dust applicator; remove the lid seal and replace the lid ring.

This works equally as well for other items such as whole ground cornmeal.
