I've been fortunate in that my two trees have been very healthy. However, I've been listening to Howard talking about web worms. Would it be beneficial to me to "prevent" webworms by putting out trichagama wasps now? I know that my neighbors are NOT organic, so they're more likely to get these worms, and I'm afraid these worms will spread, possibly, to my trees. I plan on putting some out in the spring - as a preventive now that my trees are getting larger.

It's always welcome to release beneficials in the area, we release ladybugs every spring needed or not, just to boost the local population.
I had one branch of one tree (Black River Birch) get webworm this year. Frankly I just snipped it, broke open the web with a stick, and tossed it on the driveway so the local critters could take care of them, which they did since they were exposed thus.

I 'should' be the 'trichograma' expert since that's where my screen name comes from . I think you're only supposed to release them in the spring when the leaves are just coming out. I am not sure if you release them now if they'd live.
We had trillions of canker worms on our property-20 ac w/10 ac of woods-& we released the wasps in the early spring. Have not had a problem w/those OR web worms since.
Go to the main page, click on Organic Sources then click on Find Organic Retailers. You can scroll thru and find a nursery in your area. I can tell you that Redentas and Brumley Gardens carry them.
