Hello all,
I was hoping that some of yall out there could offer your advice on propagating a trumpet vine from a parent plant. I live in Dallas and my neighbor across the alley has Trumpet Vine growing across his entire back fence. I spoke with him the other day and he has no problem with me taking some cuttings. I am planning on keeping the vine in a pot. I was wondering if anyone has had success with a potted trumpet? I was also curious as to the nature of root hormones/root stimulators. What are they? Are any considered organic? Any extra advice on growing from cuttings in general would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I can't help with anything except root stimulator. Liquid seaweed is an excellent root stimulator & a great additive to use in your Garrett Juice or other amendments.

Walt-
We have several trumpet vine shoots coming up in the area b/w sidewalk & street-going to mow 'em down. If you'd like some, I'll dig 'em & transplant into containers. PM me & I'll save them for you.

Tricky Grama,
Thank you very much for your kind offer, I am going to dig up a few shoot from my neighbors back fence seeing as how he doesn't mind. Thanks again for your information and willingness to help out.
Regards,
Walt
I would never plant trumpet vine because it is extremely aggressive and invasive. Not only will you have it forever and in places you don't ever want it (lawn, flower beds, veggie gardens) but your neighbors will too. I battled my neighbor's vine for 14 years and it was everywhere. Good luck!
