I have a relatively new lawn of bermuda grass. There are I put a top layer of compost and have put out dry molasses. There are places where there seems to be something leaching out of the soil and the grass will not grow. What would you recommend? I have thought about applying norid (sp?)

You didn't give much information but there might be some fungus diseases that look like something coming out of the soil. I would try ORDINARY corn meal at a rate of 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. You can either use corn meal from the grocery store or get it in 50-pound bags at a feed store. There is a push on to sell corn GLUTEN meal - don't fall for that. You want ORDINARY corn meal.
