I'm looking to add some winter color to the front of my house, both just above and behind the retaining wall and along the bottom of the wall between it and the sidewalk (about 18" wide). The upper part doesn't need height and pansies might do fine there, but below we'd like some height as wall is 4'. Any suggestions?

Sandih,
Thank you. The areas face SW, but the upper area is shelided by the house, the lower by the wall till roughly noon or after. Are iceland poppies and stock readily available in N Texas?

Their availability come and go thru winter. They are also available into early spring when they bloom again.
