Help!! I've planted spinach (Bloomsdale Longstanding) & now that they have sprouted, the new seedlings look more like grass than spinach. I know that you can't always determine final form from the early one, but my brother, who has grown it in the past, says that what I've got doesn't seem to match what he had. Different species, maybe? The lettuces are up & they don't look like the mature ones, either, but they don't look so drastically different. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My young spinach looked just as you described...grass-like. Not to worry...you should have nice round spinach leaves shortly.

Spinach does look similar to a grass seedling for the first few days. Wait awhile before you yank it. It may be a desirable instead of a weed :)
