Can you tell me what this might be? They have been coming up all over our front yard, especially around the trees. They look like they may be a fungus. When water hits them they turn into powder.

That photo appears to have a hornworm of some sort, I don't see a fungus. Do you have another one you can supply? Tobacco and Tomato hornworms don't turn to powder when they get wet! (Lot's of gardeners would be happy if they did. BT keeps them at bay) :)
