Help,

I'm being swarmed with false chinch bugs (A lygaeid, Lygaeus sp.
(Hemiptera: Lygaeidae) at least that's what I identified them as from this site: http://insects.tamu.edu/fieldguide/aimg55.html (see bottom of page). They are swaming my aggregate driveway and are everywhere, they are even starting to get in my house. I would like to know what the best course is to get rid of them. Thanks in advance for the help.

Peace,
Todd

I don't know about false chinch bugs, but for real chinch bugs, you can use soapy water by adding one ounce of dish soap to two gallons of water and spray. At least that's what one of my organic pest control books says. I've never tried it, so can't validate it's effectiveness.

Thanks for the reply Dragonfly.

I'll give that a shot. These things are getting out of control. I'm new at the "natural way" and am trying to get everything established. Thanks again for the info.

Peace,
Todd

You're welcome. I hope it works for you. I've never had chinch bugs that I know of. What kind of damage do they cause? Or are they just a pest?

They don't seem to be doing any damage to anything. They're just everywhere and are a real annoyance. Thanks again.

Peace,
Todd
