Just moved into new house, a strange plant was growing under north side of house really close to house, moved said plant out under oaks near house. The plant is about 1 foot tall at this time and looks exactly like the Plumaria plant listed in Garrett's Plants for Texas-page 123-124, but without the bloom. Question? I really want to save this plant, is it frost tender? At first I thought it was a Mandrone, but the leaves look exactly like that pic - what to do? Am in Lampasas, and have no idea where the builder got the dirt the plant came from. TIA

In this area, plumeria is not frost tolerant as far as I know, but you are much further South, so it may be more tolerant in your area. Do a search on google if you don't get a positively for sure answer here.

I'll do that -thank you,but am still confused as to where it might have come from. Have lived a lot of my life in Texas and never have heard of this plant as being a native.
