Hi!

Someone gave us a 3 ft. tall red oak tree they dug out of their yard. I know this is the wrong time to dig up and replant but it was free so we took it.

We planted it yesterday. It has some very dry leaves and I am not sure if it is going to make it.

How much and how often should I water this tree? We would love to see it live but it looks doubtful at this time.

Thank you.

I would water 2x a week really drenching/saturating the root ball with a hose..no sprinkler system or soaker hose. Also you need to give it a good root stimulator like seaweed emulsion with a bit of Superthrive in it. Do that 1x a month. You need to do all of this the first year!
