Are weeds like nutsedge perennials or annuals? I have been pulling away the seed pods from the nutsedge and am alittle curious whether the parent weed will be back next year.

Neighbor-
I'm sure not a weeds expert unless you count the hrs spent pulling & cussn' them. But Nutgrass MUST be a perennial-no matter what you do, it will be back.

If the nutgrass is in a planting bed, I have had decent luck by keeping a good mulch covering. The nutgrass does return, but it often attempts to root in the mulch and removal is a snap. That which grows in the lawn just gets mowed with the rest of the grass. Hey, it's green and without close inspection I don't even notice it anymore.
