I've scanned the forums and haven't found a definitive answer to this, so I'll ask here...

I've never used a sprayer before and I've seen others outside with those miracle grow types that attach to a hose and I've seen some who use backpack sprayers.

Is there a reliable hand-held model that someone might suggest? Like exact model number?

Also, is it a good idea to have two? One for just Garrett Juice and then one that has Garrett Juice and orange oil/garlic for disease/pest control?

Or is it easy to wash out the orange oil between applications?

Don't get too caught in "in the exact model number" of a sprayer. You can go to Home Depot and get any kind of sprayer they have and it will work. Some people also use what's called a trombone sprayer (do a google search) so they can easily mix up the concoction and set the sprayer tube into the bucket and then pump the sprayer itself and the liquid goes pretty far. You can easily get up into trees with a trombone sprayer. I just got a 2 gal sprayer at Lowes and wash it out between uses. Since I never use any harmful chemicals, I don't worry about having multiple sprayers for different uses.

I've had 3 of the hand-held plastic sprayers from home despot & both have broken after 3-4 uses. Saving my $$ for a trombone one. Maybe the inside stuff is made better...

trombone sprayer... I just looked it up -- that is really cool! -- can you control the "power" of the spray by just not pumping it as hard (so as not to knock over delicate flowers...)

I must be lucky with my sprayer from Lowes....it's on it's 2nd season and I've out it to good use.

I made the mistake of leaving a mix of vinegar and a couple of other things in small sprayers over time (trying to keep a couple of formulas mixed and ready to use) and it rotted out the rubber gaskets or plunger parts or whatever flexible inside parts that actually enable the pressurized pumps to work. I had to throw out two of them.

Use the sprayer then empty it (safely) and rinse the sprayer. Pump a few pumps and spray out through the nozzle before you empty the rinse water and put it away until next time. It will last a lot longer.

You can find small 1.5 quart sprayers at Big Lots and Ace Hardware stores for about $4.50. It's a nice size for a small garden or for small applications in a larger context.

No one has ever shopped at Harbor Freight but me, I suppose. They have good, economical sprayers 2-4 gal for decent price of $9.00 +-. I bought one a year ago and it still operates great. Always clean w/water and run a quart thru the spray hose/head to clean.
