I am growing cucumbers for the first time. I have some that are the size of a large pickle and they have a spiky fur on them. How big should I let them get before picking? Thanks

It sounds like yours aren't ready to pick yet, but....Do you know what variety they are? Some cucumbers are pickle size, and others (like Straight Eight) are slicing size. Then, there are English cucumbers which are another matter. If they start to get very smooth and yellow, they are probably over-mature whatever the variety.

Thank you for your prompt reply wormrancher! The package that the seeds came in just says, "Cucumber Poinsett 76". I don't know if that is meaningful information.
