I live in Dallas, Texas, and have a shady area with Vinca as a groundcover. I am not happy with it's overall uneven look, and a yearly bout with leaf miners. The bed that it's in is in good condition, and I'm thinking about planting Asian Jasmine amongst the Vinca, with the intention of it eventually crowding out the Vinca. I can remove the Vinca as the Asian Jasmine develops. This would hopefully keep the area looking green, instead of starting over from scratch. What do you think?

We have both in our back yard, in different places. I also prefer the look of the asian jasmine to the vinca. Word of caution, though. The asian jasmine grows **agressively.** Have good borders set up where you plant it to contain it. I do a lot of trimming to control it. And there have been several posts on the forum about how impossible it is to get rid of the stuff once you plant it. It's certainly hardy. :)
