Many of you know that Willie has been supporting farmers for years. He has taken a huge step recently by purchasing a piece of farmland near his hometown or Abbott, TX. The farm is being managed by the Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association and they are about to plant 5000 tomato and pepper plants at the farm on April 28 and 29th.
The crops will be sold at various places from Whole Foods to local restaurants.
TOFGA, a non profit support group for organic farmers and gardeners, will also benefit from these sales.
We are in need of some serious volunteers to help plant next weekend. Abbott is about 1/2 mile east of I35, about 25 miles north of Waco. Lunch will be provided but I can't promise Willie.
If you can help out please call Steve Bridges at 512-303-0816.
Thanks,
Tony
I doubt it because we will be using some machinery to plow and hill up the planting rows as well as a mechanical device to put down the drip tape. Steve would be the definitive answer, his number is above.
