Do a google search for Native Dave. He lives in Plano and has a web site. I have seen his work and know him and his wife. I believe it's www.nativedave.com/ Tony
There's a gentleman in Dallas named Michael Parkey. I have taken several classes of his at SMU where he teaches about landscaping with native Texas and adapted plants. He is a landscape architect. I've also seen some of his landscapes around my East Dallas neighborhood. Beautiful. I'm sure he's in the book.
Let me know if you want and I'll send you a link to one of the yards he did that I saw on the yearly Dallas pond tour.

Another option (shameless self-promotion, LOL)

I'm interested to know the location of the home in W Plano Patty mentioned. We have a cool project near Hedgecoxe and Robinson that thrived despite the drought. And yes, the homeowners strictly adhered to watering restrictions without snaking soaker hoses through their plants. They hand-watered (which is allowed) but only once every other week.
