 Post subject: Yellow vine thread

Location: Gaston County, NC
In my mums, yellow vine twines tightly around the stem. No leaves, haven't found a root yet. Size: sewing thread to large thread; so far, about 12-14 inches long. Seems a little sticky.
What is it?
