Have you ever visited Kerala, which was selected as one of the 50 must-see destinations by National Geographic Traveller? If you have visited the God's Own Country already, what are the images that still linger in your mind? It may be difficult to pick a particular image, because there might be numerous in your mind. Many tourists may come up with a description of the slow ride on the backwaters watching the blue sky above and the greenery around, or the green canopy over the mountains or the sun slowly falling into the serene sea, reddening the whole sky. Some may think of the the cool, salubrious climate of the land that revived their energy or the numerous ancient buildings telling tales of the splendour and opulence of a bygone era. Yet another group of travellers may speak of their refreshing experience in ayurvedic resorts where they had undergone a thorough oil massage.

Whatever be the most captivating image of Kerala, one thing is for sure – that none of the more than 9 million tourists will go back without admiring the land's beauty. The topography of the State is so varied and it includes plains, grasslands and the hilly areas with an elevation of thousands of metres from the sea level. The presence of evergreen forests, semi-evergreen forests, streams, rivers and other waterbodies make it more beautiful. The picture perfect sceneries of Kerala are so enchanting that you are sure to vow that you will come again to this land to worship nature.
